Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians-Tribal Transportation Safety Plan

Working as a subconsultant to C2AE, Justin Wing Engineering is currently preparing a Tribal Transportation Safety Plan for the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians.  The plan will highlight areas where transportation safety can be improved on the reservation and outline strategies on how to get there utilizing the Four E's of Safety: Engineering, Education, Enforcement, and Emergency response.

Completed Projects

Boyne City-Court Street Reconstruction

While still working for C2AE, Mr. Wing performed roadway design for Court Street in Boyne City.  This long-anticipated public project will transform the existing winding gravel street to a paved and curbed urban collector street, complete with new storm sewer and an upgraded stormwater basin.

This project required full plan, profile, and cross-section roadway design utilizing AutoCAD.  Storm sewer design and analysis was performed using AutoCAD pipe networks and storm analysis tools.  A medium-sized culvert will be replaced that currently has a stream flowing through it.  A minimal amount of wetland (< 1 Acre) will be filled near Park Street as well.  Mr. Wing developed all design documents and calculations needed to obtain a DEQ permit for this work.

This project is slated for construction in 2015.
